In-Orbit

Brand Logo

In-Orbit failures, whether due to technical faults, human error or the constantly evolving space environment are a constant risk factor.

Our In-Orbit (IO) insurance provides protection in the event of a loss of performance of a satellite in orbit. The coverage responds in situations including the failure or degradation of on-board equipment, loss of fuel, damage caused by operational error or collisions with foreign objects etc. The policies reflect our technical knowledge of the various applications involved and the associated risks.

In-Orbit cover applies after the satellite has separated from its launch vehicle and ends at the end of nominal life. In instances where sufficient data is available, we can provide policies for spacecraft operated past their design lifetime.

Our IO cover is often packaged with Launch Vehicle Flight Only (LVFO) insurance into a Combined Flight (CF) programme.
