Volante Global closed Syndicate 1699 to new and renewing business with effect from 23:59 GMT 31st January, 2026. The Syndicate continues to maintain the operational capacity and resourcing required to service its existing obligations.
Syndicate 1699 remains solvent and continues to be managed on that basis. The Syndicate has demonstrated overall resilience in its performance on all years of account other than 2022, which was affected by specific large-loss activity. Subsequent years of account have shown positive underwriting results and appropriate reserving having regard to current expectations. That position supports the orderly servicing of existing obligations as the portfolio runs off. Volante remains committed to supporting its clients, brokers, reinsurers and other stakeholders in line with existing obligation and can reassure all parties that in-force policies remain valid and claims will continue to be handled properly.
