London, 15 August 2018 – Edison Motor, part of Volante Global Limited (Volante), a new multi-class and multi-territory international managing general agent (MGA) platform, has announced the appointment of Stuart Gemmell as Risk Control Lead.
Mr. Gemmell will head up Edison Motor’s risk management services, which form a central part of the UK-based MGA’s full-service insurance capabilities. The firm’s risk solutions span multiple specialist sectors across the UK commercial motor insurance sector, including emergency services, public sector and haulage fleets.
With over 25 years working in fleet safety education, Mr. Gemmell is one of the most experienced risk practitioners operating in the UK motor market. Previously in law enforcement, he has delivered comprehensive programmes across all vehicle classes and multiple industry sectors. He is also a former visiting consultant to the Driver Research Group at Cranfield University.
Prior to joining Edison Motor, Mr. Gemmell was a Fleet Risk Control Manager at Gallagher Bassett.

Mr. Gemmell holds an MSc in Driver Behaviour and Education from Cranfield University. He is a Graduate member of the Institution of Occupational Health and Safety and holds a level 6 Diploma in occupational safety and health from NEBOSH. He also holds a number of vocational qualifications, including The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents advanced driving examiner and Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency licensed trainer.
